We try to keep parent/carers informed of local and national issues that affect them.

We do this in a variety of ways.

• We publish regular Newsletters.
• We publish a comprehensive printed guide to services called "Where you Stand"
• We organise and deliver training or information sessions covering a wider range of topics including welfare benefits, using social media and relationships.
• We host a twitter and facebook page
• We hold social gatherings in relaxed settings where carers meet and share ideas, coping strategies and overcome isolation
• We hold the popular Annual Understanding Disability Awards that celebrate the inclusion of people with a learning disability into ordinary life
• We discuss issues with families, gather their views and present the views of parents at many planning meetings and in consultations
