The Law Commission is consulting on radical changes aimed at simplifying and making clear much of existing care legislation.This will include making legal obligations clear on the part of statutory bodies and moving away from the postcode lottery we currently face. Your views are needed and we are hosting an event on 28th June where you can find out more and have your views taken forward. Awards a great success



The 15th Understanding Disability Awards were a huge success and well over 100 people attended to enjoy the celebration. The Understanding Disability Awards are handed out to individuals, groups or organisations that have made outstanding efforts to involve a person with a learning disability in everyday life.

Performances by No Fit State Circus, the creative Music making group and Local Motion dance group  followed the presentations and were enjoyed by all

This years 'winners' included Bute Cottage Nursery(School)
Rookwood Sound Hospital Broadcasting(Local Group)
Sara Pickard (Individual)
The Welsh Assembly Government (Employer)
and Emily Howells (Child/Group of Children)

The Parents' Federation would like to thank all those that participated and helped make these awards such a success.
