This year is the Understanding Disability Awards' Eighteenth Birthday and we plan to hold an even bigger and better event - get your nominations in now! The Understanding Disability Awards are handed out to individuals, groups or organisations that have made outstanding efforts to involve a person with a learning disability in everyday life. We have several categories with an award being made to the most outstanding nominee in each. This might include a local scout group that has adapted its project to include and involve a disabled child; a school that has gone out of its way to involve a child in a mainstream class; someone employing a person with a learning disability in a real job, perhaps by adapting the job or workplace as needed; or an individual that has gone out of their way to encourage disabled people to get involved in their community. The list is endless! New for this 18th year is a category for a professional that has 'gone the extra mile- also we invite nominations from Bridgend and Newport! To make a nomination you simply need to complete a nomination form and return it to: Cardiff & the Vale Parent's Federation Nomination forms for this year can be found by clicking here For a word document version email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
