| Campaign for Hydrotherapy pool(s) |
|
Currently there is no Hydrotherapy pool in Cardiff and the Vale that the public can access.
The Parent's Federation is gathering evidence of need for such facilities and is seeking any supporting information that would strengthen the case for the development of such a resource.
Please add your support or any suggestions or information you may have below.
This information will be used when we next meet as a 'steering group' to press for the development of a hydrotherapy pool - your views matter, please share them...
Report from the earlier 'steering group' meeting can be viewed here
An updated report has been prepared to present to the local Health Alliance in the hope that we can add this need to the coming strategic plan. To view this click here

Thank you to all that have provided evidence to date, we still need more supporting information though. I have made enquiries to a number of funding bodies regarding their potential support for developing better hydrotherapy facilities and have had positive feedback but we will need to prepare a strong and fully costed case for support. We need to prepare a formal feasibility study/business plan and I am seeking funding for us to take this stage of the project forward - we shall then be able to agree a shared goal and vision to develop a strategy that will ensure sustainable hydropool provision across the region. The closer I have looked into this it is becoming clear that re-opening a pool in itself is only part of what we have to achieve - else we risk repeating the mistakes of the past! Has anyone any comments or views to share? I suggest we call a follow up meeting of the group in early November, in the meantime I shall seek funds for a feasibility study.
